Momo Yeung

Born in Hong Kong, Momo began her ballet lessons at age six. Following the immigration trend during the early 90's, her family moved to Calgary Canada where she continued her lessons. However, due to financial reasons she had to give up ballet lessons at the age of 12.

It wasn't until six years later when momo's inner curiosity in dance led to a decision to take up ballet again. She took beginners classes at the University of Calgary Dance faculty alongside a full time business degree program.

One thing led to another, ballet led her to jazz, contemporary and hip hop. In these dance lessons she found her freedom and independence. Dance itself healed her as she discovered her identity and her passion in life, dancing.

Faced with countless obstacles, momo eventually pursued a professional career in dance. The journey began with ballet lessons twice a week at Starchevski School of Ballet (Calgary, Canada). A year later, during an exchange program as a business student in England, she auditioned at Northern Ballet School (Manchester, UK) and was offered a place for full time training.

Momo is now based in London UK as a Professional Dancer and Actress. She continues to pursue her career with relentless spirit, hard work and sheer determination!

At the beginning of 2010 she has worked with celebrities such as Pamela Anderson, Talkshow host Paul O' Grady and comedian Ruby Wax in Aladdin, a pantomime at Wimbledon Theatre for First Family Entertainment.

In April she rejoined the cast of AD2050, a play by Kali Theatre Company in London for their workshop performance for the prestigious venue Young Vic. This play will be on tour next spring! Watch this space!

Coming soon in Aug she will be performing as Lilac Fairy for the ballet Sleeping Beauty at St. Margarets Festival Ballet.

Later this year she will be on a UK tour with Theatre Hullabaloo for their new play The Nights Pirates, a production that merges ballet, contemporary, puppetry, music and acting for young audiences!

Momo is looking forward to an exciting new year to come!
